An FAQ whose left gutter is a real measurement instrument: each question's tick is drawn proportional to the exact pixel height its answer will occupy, so the column reads as a bar chart of answer length at rest and opening a question is the tick growing to the number it was always predicting.
Use when Pick faq-answer-depth-gutter when the reader should be able to tell, before clicking anything, which answers are one-liners and which are three paragraphs — the resting gutter is a truthful bar chart of answer length. accordion-latch is the better pick when the closed state itself should read as mechanically shut rather than as a measurement, and truncation-word-count is for expanding a single clamped block of prose in place rather than a list of questions.
